Tru Fragrance, a custom fragrance development company that creates, manufactures and markets private brand fragrances for niche and specialty retailers worldwide, has launched Tru Blooms Chicago First Harvest Eau de Parfum.

The fragrance is a limited edition perfume infused with the scent of flowers grown throughout the city. The company created a way to locally “grow” this fragrance, by working in cooperation with the city to transform public and neighborhood green spaces into gardens. Roses, lavender and violets were planted in June, and harvested in late August, to use to produce the juice.

The fragrance is being sold online, and at local retailers throughout Chicago. It is packaged in a flask-shaped bottle, with a cap reminiscent of wood or bamboo.

“Tru Blooms Chicago allowed us a unique opportunity to give back to the community that has nurtured the growth and success of our company for more than 40 years. Through this initiative, we were able to beautify the city’s public green spaces, support local nonprofits, and create and sustain jobs for Chicago residents,” said Monte Henige, CEO of Tru Fragrance. “It is with great pride that we celebrate this pioneering initiative in our hometown of Chicago, leveraging our expertise in custom fragrance development to create a perfume that embodies what we love about this great city.”
